A Very Scenic Swedish Winter

Stockholm, Sweden Sara Hogberg, editor of globe-trotter has finally returned to her native Sweden after a whirlwind few years in New York City and Paris. Needless to say, although she misses the hustle and bustle of New York, she is compensated by the beyond gorgeous Scandinavian sceneries. While nature in New York is limited to watching the cracked out squirrels in Washington Square park, in Sweden Sara has the option to escape to beaches and explore forests.
We don’t know about you, but sitting on desks in shoebox like buildings, slouching on computers has made us very tempted to book the next flight for Sweden… or just make a trip down to IKEA- but I bet it’s not the same.

The London Diaries: Marylebone High Street

London, England Christiana has now embarked on a 6 month journey to London where she is seeking her second graduate degree at the London College of Fashion. With a suitcase full of DL’s she is going to explore the city and write ‘The London Diaries’ so all of our readers can get an insight into her fashionable life in London.
This is part 1 of the London Diaries- Enjoy:
Today I spent the day on Marylebone High Street, a lovely area of London filled with eclectic shops, cafes and restaurants. After a long day of walking around and exploring my new city, I went to The Natural Kitchen, an organic food emporium, for a bite to eat.
Marylebone is full of history and style. It is probably most known for the famous ‘Baker Street’ which is the home of the fictional character of Sherlock Holmes. It is also my new neighborhood!

Platinum Frequent Flier Status

A shot from the stage while LMFAO performed at their exclusive post-superbowl concert
Park City/Indianapolis/New York New York Fashion Week officially started yesterday and for everyone at DL1961, that means another week of no sleep and caffeine binges. We can’t complain: with such buzz surrounding our brand, we are MORE than happy to accept invitations to the shows of the most iconic and notable international designers.
We started off our year at the Sundance Film Festival, where we had the opportunity to mingle with our celebrity fans and attend some fabulous parties. Even though we had to brave through one of the worst blizzards Utah has seen in years, we trudged through the snow. Fabulously, of course. I mean, if Drake could risk his life to perform at Bing Bar during the storm, we definitely couldn’t miss a beat. No excuses!
A few days after we got back from Sundance (and so little time to coordinate outfits), we decided to go to the Superbowl with our friends from the Paige Management Group, spearheaded by Matt Shendell and Brian Mazza. We hosted the official
Paige Management viewing party in both Indy as well as at the Ainsworth in New York City. In Indy, we celebrated the Giants victory till the wee hours of the morning at our impromptu after party, where things got a little rowdy when Madonna’s back up dancers showed up and performed a medley of her songs. We mingled with the elite crowd and we’re not exactly sure when things took such a bizarre turn, but we somehow managed to finagle our way ON TO the stage with LMFAO at their exclusive post-superbowl concert. It was utter insanity to say the least.
Now the team is back into our NYC grind, even though we’re literally working from our last ounces of adrenaline. Unless you’re living under a rock, then you know that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is in full swing. We are eternally grateful for our invitation to participate in the Robert Verdi Fashion Week Suites. You know, that sexy beast of a celebrity stylist who is almost as well known for always sporting a pair of great shades as he is for dressing notables in Hollywood. As a familiar face in fashion, editors, celebrities, tastemakers and fashion-lovers alike flock to his suites to check out the hottest trends. Between manning the suites and attending shows, our DL1961 team has been running around the city trying to divide and conquer. All for our lovely readers, of course!
We won’t even get into the OTHER side of the fashion world, which includes trade show after trade show happening on both coasts this month. I mean, we still have to make a living. But there is one light at the end of this tunnel: Platinum Frequent Flier status. Obv.

DL1961/Misha Nicole Event

New York, New York Super trendy lower east side concept store Misha Nicole hosted a DL1961 Premium Denim event yesterday. The event was a huge success and everyone seemed to be responding well to the denim. This was mostly due to the impeccable merchandising of the product and gorgeous displays. The store boasts a multitude of cult designers like Kevork Kiledjian, Issa London and Sachin+Babi which gives the shopper more than the average shopping experience. The focus on global art, culture and giving back gives the store many dimensions and truly sets it apart from the normal. We are proud to be represented so beautifully in the store.

Orange Pop

Miami, Florida Christiana just landed in London where she was greeted with uncharacteristically low temperatures and snow! The cold probably felt a little bit more bitter considering she had spent a majority of the winter between Miami, Panama and Nicaragua. But she better get used to the cold because she is now going to be starting a new section for the blog called The London Diaries where she will document her six month stay in London while she completes her second graduate degree. Until the next set of pictures come in from London, enjoy this last photo set from Miami.

A West Village Kind of Afternoon

West Village, New York City While all the Americans were out watching the superbowl this past Sunday, Paula and her European crew, took advantage of the situation by venturing out into an almost deserted West Village. While everyone else had their eyes glued to the television- this group ran around the usually crowded village, in and out of galleries and eateries. Although they may not have been to interested in the football (after all, to them, football is a sport Beckham plays) they were certainly up for the massive after party that preceded the big win. I mean, a good party is kind of universal. Don’t you think?

The Ultimate Face-off: Bring it on New England

New York, New York/Indianapolis, Indiana We the DL1961 Premium Denim team are usually a mild mannered bunch but this weekend our group of slender fashion forward women are going to morph into the epitome of a sports ‘bro’.
I mean, New York is facing New England, which means we will have our blue jeans on, our custom Giants tees and a huge apetite for wings, beers and smack talk.
As the official hosts of the Ainsworth viewing party (in New York and Indianapolis) we will make sure that New England knows that they are in for something. And for the record Tom Brady, you may be tall, gorgeous and a quarterback and we are usually all over your amazing-ness, but this weekend, you are fair game.
Stay tuned for our live updates from both New York City and Indianapolis on our twitter @DL1961jeans

Granada, Nicaragua Globetrotter editor Christiana Weber is pictured here in Grenada at Iglesia de San Francisco which is a church and museum famous for its architecture and Pre-Colombian statues. Lucky for her it’s summer south of the equator which means that she can wear some adorable shorts and blouses. The way she puts her outfits together so glamorously is admirable! With some great accessories, perfectly coiffed hair and mandatory sunglasses she exudes an attitude that makes her style both aspirational yet attainable.

Indulging in the Arts, New Orleans Style

New Orleans, Louisiana As soon as Paula got off a plane from Portugal she got on another to Louisiana for an artistic expedition. There she indulged in the rich French influence and rustic appeal that can only be found in New Orleans. She roamed the streets popping into galleries and cafes, soaking as much of the unique culture in as she can. One of her favorites spots was the New Orleans Museum of Art and a quaint little cafe called Amelie. At night she made a mandatory visit to Conservation Hall where she finished the night in a haze of amazing music and drinks.

Not Your Average Stroll in the Park

Sintra/Cascais, Portugal For her last couple of weeks in Portugal, Carol spent her time between the two gorgeous towns of Sintra and Cascais roaming the gardens and indulging in some stunning Roman architecture. As these pictures show, the weather, the landscape and her outfit were perfection! (I know we shouldn’t take away from her breathtaking surroundings but honestly, her outfit is really worth a mention) How many people you know can nonchalantly wear a leopard fur jacket, and not have it wear them? Yeah we didn’t think so…

Blue Lagoon

Miami, Florida We have not seen editor Christiana Weber for a while but she’s back and here to make all of us facing freezing temperatures jealous. A stark contrast from our posts of late which featured celebrities all bundled up in Utah, Christiana shows us how to dress for a warm winter getaway. With a gorgeous sheer white top and bright blue DL1961 shorts she shows off her impeccable tan and perfect figure. We are digging her awesome RayBans as well!
If this doesn’t make you want to head to the gym and book your next vacation, I don’t know what would!

Sundance Best Dressed Winner: Tinsley Mortimer

Park City, Utah With the invasion of the New York City and LA fashion crowd at Sundance, there was plenty of great fashion to gawk at. Everyone seemed to be striving to do the best version of country chic that they could but we must say the lovely socialite and fashion designer Tinsley Mortimer really took the cake (even though she wasn’t wearing DL!)
We found her printed leggings, Russian fur cap and cozy brown sweater so adorable that we are willing to let this one pass. Tinsley has been a long time fan of DL1961 and we made sure that she walked out the door with plenty so the next time we see her she will definitely be sporting a pair!
Our fashion runner up was Emma Roberts who perfectly pulled off young hollywood élan in a black parka, skinny jeans and bright top (see below)
Sundance Film Festival Diary

Park City, Utah Our DL1961 Team is finally back in the office after a whirlwind weekend with the stars. We couldn’t believe the response we got from celebrities, producers, tastemakers and editors about our brand. We can’t thank Talent Resources enough (especially the infamous and insanely funny duo Mike Heller and Matt Kirshner) for inviting us to be in their gifting suite because it really seemed to be a celebrity hotspot. We had a chance to bond with celebrities like Mario Lopez, Emma Roberts, Wilmer Valderrama (pictured), Laura Prepon, Maria Menounos, Andie Macdowell, Annalynn McCord, Lil Jon and many many more who stopped by the our booth, picked up some DL1961s and wrote on our DL wall.
Overall the mood and vibe at Sundance was incredible. The little town of Park City was not only faced with the worst snow storm in years over the weekend, but it was invaded by a bigger forcer: the fashion crowd of New York and LA. While we sipped drinks at the Bing Lounge, danced at Tao Night Club and watched football at the Ainsworth we couldn’t help but think, “Are we really in Utah”. It was fun mingling with the same culprits we see out in the town in New York and engage in some good old fashioned NY/LA rivalry. I think Utah residents (if there were any) thought we were crazy.
And with the true New York resilience we braved the storm and got from party to after party to the after after party in our DL1961 and killer heels. There is a reason why they say New Yorkers are tough…
