Miami, Florida Everyone in New York City was thinking exactly the same thing this past weekend- how the hell did it get so cold? I mean, it was 80 degrees last weekend and this Saturday night we found ourselves hanging on to anyone we could find for body warmth. So we decided to cheer everyone with thoughts of better times aka a few months ago in Miami. So as we gaze at this picture of Carolina running off the dock we can reminice about better times and think: “only a few more weeks and then we will be complaining about the heat”

We just wanted to take moment to introduce Alexis, student, model, blogger and a new addition to our DL1961 Premium Denim team. This all around awesome (and gorgeous!) girl is on an adventure to document her life as a model/student in New York City and beyond. This is her first entry from spring break in Europe. Enjoy! 

Amsterdam, The Netherlands It is beautiful outside in Amsterdam today! Most of the other days here have been chilly, so I took this as an opportunity to get outside and not freeze while doing so. I went out to the park this morning and had my tea and a chocolate waffle. Ever since my trip to Belgium i’ve been getting off on this whole chocolate waffle thing… it could soon become a problem but for right now i’m indulging. Judge me I dare you!  Amsterdam is so relaxing and peaceful… I find myself super calm here. A nice change from the hussel and bussel of New York City. Speaking of, back in the 1600s or so New York was actually New Amsterdam, and here there are tram stops called, “Haarlem” after Harlem in New York. Kind of baller, right?! I’m starting to miss my New York but I know once i’m back i’ll be craving these freakin’ waffles. Sigh.

North Fork, Long Island  While searching for a perfect weekend getaway I found a place that combined two of my greatest passions…wine and nature! North Fork is a region in Long Island known for its wineries and relaxed environment. Staying at the Shinn Estate Vineyards and Farmhouse just made the entire weekend more than perfect with a constant supply of in-house locally produced wine and an incredible farmers breakfast to start your day. New York, New York Jessy Carolina and the Hot Mess, are a jazz and blues band specializing in American tunes from the 1800’s-1930’s. I first came across them in the crowded Union Square subway stop and have been an avid fan since. Considering im used to seeing them in Subway stops and low key bars, I was surprised to know that their next gig was at the fancy Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel—what an upgrade! Los Angeles, California Kim really seems to love our Emma in Onyx jeans! This is the second time in the past few weeks that she has been spotted wearing them while out and about in LA and we couldn’t be happier. We love it when Kim adopts an easy and effortless style and she looks really great in our basic black denim. As this picture demonstrates- it really shows off her ‘assets’! We are also loving the toned down makeup and fresh mint green blazer: truly a great winter to spring transition outfit.

Barcelona, Spain This week Christiana jetted off to Spain where she got a break from her new life in London. I mean, the English are great, but there is nothing like Spanish men and of course a severely reduced price shopping spree at Zara (for all of those who don’t know, Spain is Zara’s headquarters and it’s dirt cheap there!). Chris also stepped out of her comfort zone and tried out the (sort of questionable?) polka dot trend. We must say, she manages to make it look more rocker than prissy. Don’t you agree?

New York, New York Putting on your DL’s can really transform a woman. This theory really proved itself when Carol and I dressed all our beautiful girlfriends in these great jeans for a super secret project for the blog!  The “in motion” surprise will be revealed next week so stayed tuned! All we are revealing is that you will get up insight into what happens before heading out on a Friday night when there are a lot of girls, drinks, makeup and specially DL’s to spare.

St. Petersburg, Florida Vanessa Hudgens has been receiving a lot of press lately as she flaunts her bikini-red body on the set of her new movie Spring Breakers. Along with co-stars Ashley Benson and Selena Gomez, Hudgens filmed scenes this past week wearing some adorable colored bikinis and bottoms. We couldn’t help but think we had seen the shorts (pictured here) before. Upon investigation (and a few calls to the movie’s stylist) we discovered that they are indeed DL1961 Premium Denim shorts! Now we have one more reason to watch this movie… Also, did we mention James Franco is in it to. Pre-book tickets please!

New York, New York The Spring/Break Art Show marked New York’s first ever curator-driven art fair, but it proved to be just so much more! As an High School as its setting, the fair’s dynamic was both relaxed and interactive. We found ourselves curiously roaming around from room to room exploring young curator’s interesting perspective of contemporary art. Amongst the best installations was that of artist Miky Fabrega.  He had us choose a pencil and sit down to draw the artist as he drew a portrait of you. The fair closed its doors on Sunday but we will certainly be on the watch for the next ones to come. by Paula Rezende

Dallas, Texas Modern Luxury magazine recently featured Mega-blogger/entrepreneur Tina Craig from the famous blog- The Bag Snob. This huge blogging empire was the brainchild of long-time friends Tina Craig and Kelly Cook. In a world where everyone and anyone is aspiring to be a fashion blogger, this team is the real deal. With some hugely successful projects like a bag line with DKNY and front row tickets to all the fashion weeks, this duo is definitely one to watch(or more appropriately, follow). They both are huge fans of the brand and have been photographed all over the world in our jeans! We couldn’t be more flattered!

New York, New York The opening of the Armory Show lured in an eclectic crowd and a large mix of art from all corners of the world. Amongst some of the best galleries present was Pilar Corrias. It featured the works of Brazilian artists Tunga and Philippe Parreno from France. The event was crowded and the art was borderline overwhelming, but in the midst of it all we still managed to find some familiar faces that made a $16 champagne glass worth paying. The fair will go on until March 11th so if you enjoy people watching and want to get a big dose of inspiration we definitely recommend going! by Paula Rezende
