Another Edition of Scenic Sweden

Vejbystand, Sweden Another questioning DL’s flexibility should look at these pictures as proof. For a day of hopping, skipping and jumping around the beaches of Sweden, Sara swapped her tracks for DL jeans and she definitely didn’t feel the difference!

JUNKANOO

Layford Cay, Bahamas One of the best things about living in New York is the accessibly to all its surroundings. For Easter weekend I hopped on a plane and in just 3 hours I landed in Paradise… The Bahamas! Where not only was I able to enjoy the beautiful weather and nature, but also got to experience the Bahamian traditional dance: Junkanoo! By Carolina Pimenta

Hot Pink Hot Pants

Palm Beach, Florida With warm weather just around the corner, Christiana decided to pull out her Flamingo shorts. By pairing theme with a cream long sleeve sweater she creates a gorgeous spring look that is perfect for both the beach and the city.

From the Diary of a Model Student

We just wanted to take moment to introduce Alexis, student, model, blogger and a new addition to our DL1961 Premium Denim team. This all around awesome (and gorgeous!) girl is on an adventure to document her life as a model/student in New York City and beyond. This is her first entry from spring break in Europe. Enjoy!
Amsterdam, The Netherlands It is beautiful outside in Amsterdam today! Most of the other days here have been chilly, so I took this as an opportunity to get outside and not freeze while doing so. I went out to the park this morning and had my tea and a chocolate waffle. Ever since my trip to Belgium i’ve been getting off on this whole chocolate waffle thing… it could soon become a problem but for right now i’m indulging. Judge me I dare you! Amsterdam is so relaxing and peaceful… I find myself super calm here. A nice change from the hussel and bussel of New York City. Speaking of, back in the 1600s or so New York was actually New Amsterdam, and here there are tram stops called, “Haarlem” after Harlem in New York. Kind of baller, right?! I’m starting to miss my New York but I know once i’m back i’ll be craving these freakin’ waffles. Sigh.

Beach Day in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain This week Christiana jetted off to Spain where she got a break from her new life in London. I mean, the English are great, but there is nothing like Spanish men and of course a severely reduced price shopping spree at Zara (for all of those who don’t know, Spain is Zara’s headquarters and it’s dirt cheap there!). Chris also stepped out of her comfort zone and tried out the (sort of questionable?) polka dot trend. We must say, she manages to make it look more rocker than prissy. Don’t you agree?

Running Free

Råå, Skåne Län, Sweden, Isn’t everything about this set stunning? With a photo diary of her life back in Sweden, Sara is debunking everything Americans think of life in the Scandinavian countries- particularly the part of them being covered in a perpetual blanket of snow. In fact, it’s looks pretty damn stunning. While us New Yorkers have adapted to Central Park, running around in these fields is making us consider a move to Sweden. One more plus- IKEA furniture would be even cheaper.

The London Diaries: Dover Street Market

London, England Dover Street Market is an innovative retail store that provides an unique experience. It was created by the fashion mastermind Rei Kawakubo of Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons. The store has a stunning selection of the top fashion brands such as Alaia, Lanvin, Celine and Christopher Kane to name a few. Each floor offers a fresh breath of fashion and luxury. It is definitely a must see on a visit to London and the ultimate marriage of art and fashion. By Christiana Weber, The London Diaries

A Very Scenic Swedish Winter

Stockholm, Sweden Sara Hogberg, editor of globe-trotter has finally returned to her native Sweden after a whirlwind few years in New York City and Paris. Needless to say, although she misses the hustle and bustle of New York, she is compensated by the beyond gorgeous Scandinavian sceneries. While nature in New York is limited to watching the cracked out squirrels in Washington Square park, in Sweden Sara has the option to escape to beaches and explore forests.
We don’t know about you, but sitting on desks in shoebox like buildings, slouching on computers has made us very tempted to book the next flight for Sweden… or just make a trip down to IKEA- but I bet it’s not the same.

Platinum Frequent Flier Status

A shot from the stage while LMFAO performed at their exclusive post-superbowl concert
Park City/Indianapolis/New York New York Fashion Week officially started yesterday and for everyone at DL1961, that means another week of no sleep and caffeine binges. We can’t complain: with such buzz surrounding our brand, we are MORE than happy to accept invitations to the shows of the most iconic and notable international designers.
We started off our year at the Sundance Film Festival, where we had the opportunity to mingle with our celebrity fans and attend some fabulous parties. Even though we had to brave through one of the worst blizzards Utah has seen in years, we trudged through the snow. Fabulously, of course. I mean, if Drake could risk his life to perform at Bing Bar during the storm, we definitely couldn’t miss a beat. No excuses!
A few days after we got back from Sundance (and so little time to coordinate outfits), we decided to go to the Superbowl with our friends from the Paige Management Group, spearheaded by Matt Shendell and Brian Mazza. We hosted the official
Paige Management viewing party in both Indy as well as at the Ainsworth in New York City. In Indy, we celebrated the Giants victory till the wee hours of the morning at our impromptu after party, where things got a little rowdy when Madonna’s back up dancers showed up and performed a medley of her songs. We mingled with the elite crowd and we’re not exactly sure when things took such a bizarre turn, but we somehow managed to finagle our way ON TO the stage with LMFAO at their exclusive post-superbowl concert. It was utter insanity to say the least.
Now the team is back into our NYC grind, even though we’re literally working from our last ounces of adrenaline. Unless you’re living under a rock, then you know that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is in full swing. We are eternally grateful for our invitation to participate in the Robert Verdi Fashion Week Suites. You know, that sexy beast of a celebrity stylist who is almost as well known for always sporting a pair of great shades as he is for dressing notables in Hollywood. As a familiar face in fashion, editors, celebrities, tastemakers and fashion-lovers alike flock to his suites to check out the hottest trends. Between manning the suites and attending shows, our DL1961 team has been running around the city trying to divide and conquer. All for our lovely readers, of course!
We won’t even get into the OTHER side of the fashion world, which includes trade show after trade show happening on both coasts this month. I mean, we still have to make a living. But there is one light at the end of this tunnel: Platinum Frequent Flier status. Obv.

Orange Pop

Miami, Florida Christiana just landed in London where she was greeted with uncharacteristically low temperatures and snow! The cold probably felt a little bit more bitter considering she had spent a majority of the winter between Miami, Panama and Nicaragua. But she better get used to the cold because she is now going to be starting a new section for the blog called The London Diaries where she will document her six month stay in London while she completes her second graduate degree. Until the next set of pictures come in from London, enjoy this last photo set from Miami.

Nicaraguan Beauty

Granada, Nicaragua Globetrotter editor Christiana Weber is pictured here in Grenada at Iglesia de San Francisco which is a church and museum famous for its architecture and Pre-Colombian statues. Lucky for her it’s summer south of the equator which means that she can wear some adorable shorts and blouses. The way she puts her outfits together so glamorously is admirable! With some great accessories, perfectly coiffed hair and mandatory sunglasses she exudes an attitude that makes her style both aspirational yet attainable.

Indulging in the Arts, New Orleans Style

New Orleans, Louisiana As soon as Paula got off a plane from Portugal she got on another to Louisiana for an artistic expedition. There she indulged in the rich French influence and rustic appeal that can only be found in New Orleans. She roamed the streets popping into galleries and cafes, soaking as much of the unique culture in as she can. One of her favorites spots was the New Orleans Museum of Art and a quaint little cafe called Amelie. At night she made a mandatory visit to Conservation Hall where she finished the night in a haze of amazing music and drinks.

Not Your Average Stroll in the Park

Sintra/Cascais, Portugal For her last couple of weeks in Portugal, Carol spent her time between the two gorgeous towns of Sintra and Cascais roaming the gardens and indulging in some stunning Roman architecture. As these pictures show, the weather, the landscape and her outfit were perfection! (I know we shouldn’t take away from her breathtaking surroundings but honestly, her outfit is really worth a mention) How many people you know can nonchalantly wear a leopard fur jacket, and not have it wear them? Yeah we didn’t think so…

Blue Lagoon

Miami, Florida We have not seen editor Christiana Weber for a while but she’s back and here to make all of us facing freezing temperatures jealous. A stark contrast from our posts of late which featured celebrities all bundled up in Utah, Christiana shows us how to dress for a warm winter getaway. With a gorgeous sheer white top and bright blue DL1961 shorts she shows off her impeccable tan and perfect figure. We are digging her awesome RayBans as well!
If this doesn’t make you want to head to the gym and book your next vacation, I don’t know what would!

Chance Encounters In Porto

Porto, Portugal Carol will be back in New York City soon but before she heads back she is ending her European whirlwind where it began: Porto. Even though she is a Porto native she can never get enough of the galleries. She is perpetually on the hunt for something new and fresh. On one such outing she found something rather unexpected! It seems the DL craze seems to have seeped across the pond because there it was in plain sight, a gorgeous blonde sporting our very own DL1961 jeans outside a gallery in Porto. Carol went up to her and asked to take a picture and she was more than happy to oblige. Paula, I hope Carol hasn’t found her new partner in crime….I think it’s time to summon her back to New York City before she does!
